Child care provider approval in Australian Capital Territory.
Children's Education and Care Assurance grants provider and service approvals in the ACT. Its published process states that, after required documentation is received, applicants are emailed about an online test and successful candidates are invited to an interview with CECA.

- 01Confirm the applicant has an ABN and, for a non-individual applicant, that its principal office meets the ACT application requirement.
- 02Identify each person managing or controlling the proposed service and prepare evidence supporting fitness and propriety.
- 03Submit the provider approval application using the current ACECQA/NQA ITS pathway.
- 04After CECA confirms receipt of all required documentation, complete the online test using the instructions provided.
- 05If successful, attend the CECA interview and await the written decision before progressing as an approved provider.

What ACT applicants should account for.
ACT guidance publishes a 60-day decision period unless an extension is agreed.
CECA states that the online test occurs after all required application documents are received.
The ACT also publishes local premises, planning and outdoor-environment guidance relevant to the later service approval stage.
Certain multi-storey service proposals require approval in principle before service approval; this is separate from provider approval.
Keep approvals separate
Provider, service and CCS approval are different decisions.
A National Law provider approval establishes who may be an approved provider. A service approval relates to a particular education and care service. Commonwealth CCS approval concerns administering Child Care Subsidy. One approval does not automatically grant the others.
