Child care provider approval in Queensland.
Queensland's Early Childhood Regulatory Authority assesses the applicant and relevant people with management or control for fitness, propriety and management capability. The regulator may require applicants or PMCs to complete an online assessment of National Law, National Regulations and approved-provider obligations.

Application sequence
From applicant structure to written outcome.
- 01Determine whether the applicant is an individual or another legal entity and map each director, constituent person and PMC.
- 02Prepare regulation 14 or 15 information, PA02 declarations and supporting evidence of fitness, propriety and management capability.
- 03Create the required digital access and submit the provider approval application through NQA ITS.
- 04Respond to written requests for missing or additional information within the period set by the regulator.
- 05Complete an online assessment if required and wait for the written decision before operating a service.

What Queensland applicants should account for.
Queensland recommends lodging before October if aiming to open a service at the start of the following calendar year.
The regulator publishes a 60-day decision period after all prescribed information has been provided; time awaiting applicant information is excluded.
A provider and service application may be submitted together, but service approval cannot be granted before provider approval.
The approved provider remains legally responsible even when another person is authorised to communicate with the regulator.
Keep approvals separate
Provider, service and CCS approval are different decisions.
A National Law provider approval establishes who may be an approved provider. A service approval relates to a particular education and care service. Commonwealth CCS approval concerns administering Child Care Subsidy. One approval does not automatically grant the others.

Does every Queensland applicant take an online assessment?
Queensland states that the Regulatory Authority may require applicants or PMCs to complete an online assessment to demonstrate management capability; it is not described as automatic for every application.
When does Queensland's 60-day period begin?
The published period begins once all prescribed information has been provided. Time taken by an applicant to respond to a further-information request is excluded.
Can provider and service applications be lodged together in Queensland?
Yes, but the service approval cannot be granted until the provider approval has been granted.
